How to Use Contour Palette Step-by-Step

Jecca Blac’s Sculpt & Soften is the ideal tool for anyone who’s just learning how to do their contour. Thanks to its creamy and buildable formula, the Sculpt & Soften is perfect for everyone — that you either want to feminise your face or create harsher lines. So, how do you use a contour palette? Here’s a step-by-step guide for a simple, everyday look!

1. Choose the right shade

The Sculpt & Soften palette comes in 3 different shades: light, medium and dark. Each palette contains 2 different colours, one for sculpting and one for softening.

Different than the Correct & Conceal, choosing the right shade of Sculpt & Soften is quite easy. As it doesn’t need to match your skin colour perfectly, simply choose the shade more likely to complement your skin. If you’re undecided, we recommend picking the lighter shade as the colours are easy to build up for a more dramatic effect.

2. Find the areas where the sun naturally hits your face

Stand under the sunlight and take note of where your face is naturally lit. Take note of the shadows too, as those are the areas where you’re going to apply the first shade.

 3. Apply the Sculpt shade

The first shade you’re going to apply is the Sculpt (the darker shade). Using a small angled makeup brush, take some product and drag a line from the end of your ear down towards your mouth until you’re in line with the inner end of your eyebrow. Do the same on the other side.

Then, apply the same shade on each side of your nose, forehead (temples) and your jawline. Blend the product well into your skin before the next step.

 4. Apply the Soften shade

The Soften shade will help the contouring look more natural and highlight different areas of your face. Using a fluffy makeup brush, apply the product under the arch of your eyebrows, along the line of your mouth, on your nose bridge and blend well.

If the Sculpt has left any harsh line, apply the Soften shade on either side of the areas where you previously applied the darker shade. Start small and blend well before deciding if you need to apply more product.

For a more dramatic effect, go over step 3 and 4 until you get the look you desire!
